    In order to prevent dementia, seniors join clubs or organizations that need volunteers. In this way, they won’t feel unneeded and lost after they retire through volunteering.

    Society activities is so important for seniors as we need classmates' and friends' relationships at school and groups. On one hand, it can beef up our social abilities and helps others or gets others’ help. On the other hand, it can elevate yourself-evaluation form the process, because there are a lot of people need you and like you.

    In addition, maybe you will get more friends who are in the same camp as you had been a old man during join clubs, and train your brain to stay sharp further become more younger both in physiology and psychology.

  5. Topic:Develop a hobby or two.

    When we concentrate on doing something that we really love to do, we can enjoy the moments and we feel comfortable and pleasure.

    So,developing a hobby or two can relax our brain.For example, I like to write caligraphy.When I write caligraphy, I can pay all my attention to every my breath and I can feel the tranquility in my mind.The feeling is just like meeting another myself.

    In a short nut, if we develop a hobby, we would ward off dementia and accelerate our thinking,and even we can have a peaceful composition.

    You are forcing your brain to navigate a new and complex environment.
    For example, before we go to travel, we need to use paper maps or searching electric one on internet, to figure out all places you want to go. Making a time schedule is also a good way to train your ability of organization. And when you are traveling, there are many novel, ample things and people, waiting for your discover.

    I think it's never too late to learn. Knowledge is infinite. We can learn more things from many sources nowadays. If we try to take some classes throughout our life can not only prevents us far away from dimetia but also gains more entertianments in our lifetime. For example,taking computer lessons, by doing so,we can tax our brain to think and learn.Besides,if we are good at computers, we can use those technologies in career and life,such as designing our projects or leting us get more information from internet.

  13. Topic: get enough sleep. Studies have shown a link between interrupted sleep and dementia.

    Sleep enough is good for health, we can obtain enough spirit to start a day, and do
    many things ,we can avoid our body working overtime to decrease a lot of diseases
    we might get, not only in positive but also in negative .
    If we don’t have enough sleep , we may feel tired all the day and we can not concentrate on anything what may cause a lot of faults, not to mention to keep our brain “sharp” .

    My mother has joined a gardening class for few years.
    She easily got nervous before.
    She has learned how to stay calm since she became a gardener.
    From laying out a garden, she not only exercises regularly but also reduces stress in the daily life.
    After reading this article,I told her that gardening can help ward off Dementia.

  19. Topic: (Practicing writing with your non-dominant hand several minutes every day)

    There’s a common sense that you can beef up the brain which is the opposite side to your dominant hand. For instance, if you’re a righty, then you may good at learning、logical analysis、calculate and you’re likely to be an emotional animal, since the left brain control these functions. On the other hand, once you “forget” to use your left hand, the right brain can not performs as well as the left brain.

    The best way is to use both of your dominant and non-dominant hand in your daily life, by doing so, the dormant parts of the brain can be ”woke up” .If you feel unacquainted with your non-dominant hand , get used to it, and you’ll get process day by day.

    The best way to take care the brain is to think, use it and let the brain always active. Reading and writing daily seems difficult and heavy. Yet it does not mean people have to do it as homework of school, this is more like and habit before sleep that can be easily complete, for example, writing diary, reading poem, etc. Bring up this habit will stimulate an ample areas that process and store information of brain and prevent dementia for sure.

  25. Topic:Eat with company at least one meal a day.

    Eating alone may cause you to eat unhealthy food or eat in unhealthy way. I sometimes eat cookies for lunch or spend only three minutes to finish my dinner when I eat alone or on the go, and it's not healthy at all. Eating slower to spend some times socialize, or have a better meal with my friends or family will be much more healthier. And to avoid dementia, eat healthy is definitely necessary .

    It's a truth to worry that many students stay up all night to play computer games, study, or do something isn't important at all.
    But in order to let your body obtain ample rest and to keep your brain conscious, to get enough sleep is very important and necessary.

    Dancing is a physicial activity that can decrease the incident of dementia.

    Dancing is a socialized activity that we can have a connection with others. When we are dancing, we can accelerate our brain by remembering the dance steps while having a conversation with others.

    Playing musical instruments helps us beef up the undeveloped parts of our brain. Generally speaking, it gets more and more difficult to learn things, music included, when you get older. But, for our own good, it’s never too late to learn. Learning musical instruments, we should train both our hands to make tricks. We have to coordinate our brain and hands to do these actions.     Some studies of Cognitive Neuroscience said that when we sleep , brain would secrete some important neurotransmitter , such as Serotonin and Epinephrine. These compounds are relative to our memories and emotion. And some studies in recently ten years also said the most important dormant effect to brain is repair and recovery its needs. By the way , some studies have shown a link between interrupted sleep and dementia. So if you want to make your brain robust and reduce its tax , you should get enough sleep and avoid any bothering things.

    With getting older, your body accelerates to become weaker and weaker. Also it’s including your brain. You definitely hope your brain is robust to ages. So you need to train your brain. Everyone should exercise their brain frequently in many ways to avoid dementia, a sort of illness you might get with getting older. For example, learning language is effective method. Within studying a new language, you work your brain by making it to go back and forth between one language and another.     I think she is diligent in learning. She tries to find ample sources to beef up what she says, and at the whole article, she stresses "Get enough sleep" and "Don't interrupt sleep" unceasingly, it's indeed close her main point.
    But just like Willion says, although she tells us some scientific studies find the links between interrupted sleep and dementia. It's a general speaking but not a specific after that. Maybe se can give us one example to explain why interrupted sleep associate with dementia. In this way, the article definitely is more interesting.

    I have same question. I have no enough time to sleeping.
    But this is caused by myself.
    Some time I play game all night, or do homework all night.
    This is important to plan how do you use a day.
    If I have many homework, I can do homework on Saturday or Sunday.
    If I feel tired, I have to submit to my body.
    When I want to finish, PC game Always attract me. Then I play all night.
    When I want to sleep in the daytime, I spend ten minute to sleep after class.

    Cardiovascular is a kind of system in our body. It includes blood circulation and lymph circulation, and both of them are important for our health, especially brain. Because that blood can carry fresh oxygen to everywhere in our body, also includes brain. Lymph circulation’s function is like leukocyte, it can destroy a lot of bad germs to protective our body. So if we can maintain cardiovascular health, also help our brain get ample oxygen and avoid germs’ damage.
    What can we do for amending the cardiovascular? The most direct and best way is doing exercise. When we doing exercise, like jogging, swimming, playing basketball, we also accelerating the blood circulation and lymph circulation in the same time.     I had seen many research about the sleep. And any of these articles are talking about how sleep is important. In the articles it also mention that when people sleep 8 hours a day,

    There are many studies backing up the worse sleep quality make the higher probability to get dementia. Because our brain keep working when we are awake, even we are doing some entertainment. Overuse brain will decrease it's life span. Only when we are in deep sleep, brain can take a little break. Expert saying that if we listen to music while sleep, some part of brain will keep running for get information. Thus interrupted sleep can effect overuse of brain and cause dementia.
